What is the first thing that comes to your mind when you hear "Fire Dance"?
Is it dangerous?
What the hell it is?
Is that a activity dancing on flames?
Spitfire(There are special practiced, children do not imitate.)
Actually, it is a kind of art which dance with music, fire and light. Spining fire in the air and dancing with music briskly, it shows the power and the beauty of the human body.
There are many of tools that are used in fire dance performance, like short stick, stick ,POI, fan, hula hoop, sword, glow sticks, LED,etc.
See, the strong handsome guy in the picture is playing short staff. It is a prop that made from a stick and some fireproof fabric composition. When fireproof fabric composition burned, it just carbonize so that it can prevent from scalding yourself.
This gril is playing POI, which is composed by a rope and balls. POI is originated in the traditional Maori culture. The Maori of New Zealand used to use POI to train and increase flexibility, show their strength and develop their coordination.
Fire fan, just like fan dance, a people holding a fans with fire waves in the air.
Hula hoop, a tool bonding with lots of fire ball. You should roll fast enough to let fire ball spining in the air. Hmm.... Maybe it is a good way to shape the body.(Look the curvaceous gril in the picture...XD)
A fireproof fabric strapped on the iron sword, that is called fire sword.
Ok, it time to appreciate some fire dance performances. Let's enjoy the movie!
See you next time!!!
